Our home computer died unexpectedly yesterday.  So once again, no more pictures for a little while until we get that replaced.  I promise this blog will be a lot less sucky one day!

Birthday Breakfast

It's Dan's birthday today.  We'll be going out for dinner, but here's a photo of his birthday breakfast.

I need to stop keeping my camera in the room where we shut up the cat while we eat.  Three nights in a row now I've plated dinner and thought I should take a picture only to realize the camera was in the office and I'd have to release the Kraken to get to it.  Hence, no photos. 

It was mostly leftovers anyway so you haven't missed much.

Grilled BBQ chicken and corn

Last night dinner was so yummy I didn't even think of taking a picture until long after it was all eaten.  Grilled BBQ chicken, grilled corn, steamed veggies and a baby greens salad.  Consider this a visualization excercise.

I'm traveling on business the next few days, so no posts until at least Wednesday.

I'm still waiting on my camera battery, which is a shame because the last two dinners were pretty.  Last night was chicken breast with shallot-herb reduction, and tonight was a Chinese beef stir-fry that actually tasted like Chinese food.  I will make them again at some point.

Too bad I don't have my new camera charger yet, because Dan made some damn fine Hawaiian pizza.

Sub-par Spaghetti Carbonara, with "homemade" breadsticks

Carbonara is my specialty, but this batch was disappointing.  I actually prefer to make it with rotini, but I used whole wheat spaghetti today.  It came out dry because I accidentally used more than a pound of spaghetti. 

The breadsticks, made of store-bought pizza dough with some finishing touches (those are caraway seeds), were so good I ate entirely too many of them.
